How to start your shoe collection

Ladies, if you’re a shoe lover like myself then this is for you. I know you see all those posts online of shoe collections and shoe shelves on every wall of your favorite Instagram bloggers or the rich and famous, well don't despair, those collectors didn't win the lottery and went berserk at the Christian Louboutin boutique all at once, no, instead just like every good collector they started with ONE special pair of heels. Like Carrie Bradshaw would say: “A pair of shoes can change your life. Just ask Cinderella.” That is indeed true.
If you’re in your twenties (early, mid, or late), this is the time to start your collection, stop buying shoes that will only last you a few months, you don’t need five hundred pairs of F21 heels (not that there’s anything wrong with F21 shoes, to each his own. ) but you’re at the age where quality should dominate your closet, your life, not that you shouldn’t have a few pairs of trendy pieces here and there but your body pretty much don’t have any more growing to do at this age therefor whatever you buy now will fit you for a very long time if not the rest of your life and if you don’t shop at the right places you’ll just be flushing money down the toilet.

Here are a few steps that can help you start your collection.
.
STEP 1: Clean out your closet, say a prayer and donate all the shoes that can no longer support you, you know…the ones with the crooked heels?! yes, those.

STEP 2: Before you start your collection make sure you have a place to display your shoes. A small bookcase for starters. As your collection expands you can upgrade.

STEP 3: Choose a designer to start with, you have a wide variety to choose from! (Jimmy Choo, Brian Atwood, Alexander Wang, Giuseppe Zanotti, & Christian Louboutin to name a few favorites) My first pair were the Christian Louboutin So Kate 120mm in black!

STEP 4: If you can’t afford designer shoes every weekend like “Stilettomeup” don’t worry there is hope. Buying luxury items should be a treat and a reward for all your hard work, some of us treat ourselves once a month or once every six months to splurge. Treating yourself should be one of the best feelings in the world, you should not feel guilty afterward, so leave your credit cards out of this one ladies!

There you have it, now go fashionistas, go change the world one shoe at a time <3
